WHY JOIN?

Dear Storytelling Friends,

Greetings from the Shaggy Dog Storytellers Committee

This year we have taken another look at the costs and benefits of membership of the club and we have come to adecision that we feel will be welcomed by all. We have reduced our annual membership subscription to the bargain price of only £1. Not only that but we have simplified admission prices. From now on Friday club night will cost £5 for all EXCEPT members. Members will only have to pay £4.

Obviously, we would love to see as many members, past and present, as possible at our monthly Friday club nights. In order to continue to be able to pay the fees and expenses required to attract such great storytellers, we need funding. Over the last 2 years we have had funding from several sources including the Arts Council, Awards For All and other local charities. It strengthens our applications for funding considerably if we can point to a strong membership. We would therefore urge you firstly to attend our monthly club nights when you can and secondly to renew your membership for the current year, which starts this month.

reduced fees for workshops and other club projects

We understand that there are many reasons why you cannot make every club night but we hope that this will not stop you from renewing your membership and supporting us when you can.

HOW to JOIN

Easy, just arrive at the door at the Stubbing Wharf Pub, King Street, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire on any club night, hand over £1 membership fee, fill in a simple form with your contact details and, as if by magic, you will have become member of the club!
